Gemma Andrews: Stage 5

This transcript follows closely to the termination of the psychological evaluations of five individuals who worked at South Tech labs. All participants in the wake of Project Sacrosanct are under close evaluation by trained professionals. The purpose of releasing these transcripts is to bring to light of the Corruption Cycle to the public and to help build legislation to protect those who suffer from the Corruption Cycle. At no point will these individuals be released into the public until public awareness has been fulfilled. The transcript follows:

The subjects name is Gemma Andrews. She is female and is in her mid forties. Gemma is a foreigner on a work visa. Her cycle seems to be behind everyone else’s but for now we will assume she is at stage 5. When Stage 5 happens—minimum of 16 hours—there is now no reasoning. Any communication with the subject turns hostile as the subject is animalistic in nature. The subjects attack everything in sight. The body is shrunken around the subjects bones and food no longer keeps the subject living. Nails and hair are frail and break easily. Subjects do not bleed as they previously did. The blood that was in them previously has turned black and coagulates. It is unknown how the body still functions but it is apparent that the body is stuck in a form of stasis or immortality. Any attempts to put the subjects out of their misery have proven to be futile. Any form of injection, electrocution, strangulation or any other forms to relieve the subjects of their life have proven fruitless.

Dr. Stanton: Gemma is here in the room with me. She is restrained and sedated. Two security officials are in the room with me along with Dr. Beckham. Gemma no longer makes sense when speaking and is something like a beast. When not restrained she injures herself and others. There are several wounds on Gemma. All of them self afflicted. Gemma is very skinny. You can see her bones protruding under her skin. She doesn’t eat. Pulse? Heartbeat?

Dr. Beckham: Minimal. Let’s make the first incision.

Dr. Stanton: When Gemma initially hurt herself we saw her blood was black like and thick. Almost coagulated.

Dr. Beckham: Yup. It’s this conglomerate black mass.

Dr. Stanton: Is it flowing?

Dr. Beckham: That’s a negative. It’s just occupying her body cavity.

Dr. Stanton: Take some out to run a analysis. Are her organs okay?

Dr. Beckham: It looks like they are frozen or halted from being in motion. The heart is barely beating. She’s alive but it’s as if her body is suspended into a continuous living state no longer aging or moving.

Dr. Stanton: Sounds horrible. To be condemned to this fate is one but to never die like you are suspecting. That’s a fate worse than death.

Dr. Beckham: How does the Corruption Cycle end up suspending your body?

Dr. Stanton: It’s a fact that ——— vibrates at a particular frequency and it causes these changes. It sort of changes the frequency our body operates at. Sort of… reprogramming it.

Dr. Beckham: Nurse. Here’s some of her blood. Please have Dr. Stanton give it a analysis.

*Dr. Stanton and a nurse move to another section of the room. She sounds distant when speaking*

Dr. Stanton: Looking under the microscope…it seems, very characteristic of the makeup of coagulated blood, though, these blood cells look off colored. There was also a ——— associated with the plate. It corrupted the body when the plate corrupted the mind though, it seems they both attack living things in tandem with each other. They still have their independent roles but it was as if these were created together. The ——— spreads rapidly. How did it not spread until it got here?

Dr. Beckham: That’s something you’ll have to talk to the director about. I’m on a need to know basis.

Dr. Stanton: I’m curious if these blood cells decay like they are supposed to. If homeostasis is at a unchanging state, it sort of breaks what we know about the body. How does the body still function with coagulated blood?

Dr. Beckham: I’m curious if organs are even needed. It looks like they are suspended. And if you can remove organs, to what extent?

Dr: Stanton: unfortunately we will not get answers now. Close her up. Let’s look over Bentley.
