Let me tell you the legend of the Hanged Man, our God. Long time ago when our world was created there was Arcadia and there was the Otherside. God resides in Arcadia while the Demagogues resides in the Otherside. God and these Demagogues, well, they fought a lot. Over who could claim dominion over our planet. We would be involved in holy wars between the two and it was said we were given powers to fight on either side. God and the Demagogues would keep uplifting us with limitless potential and talents that you wouldn’t dream about. This Holy War, well it ended, and how it ended wasn’t pretty.
Civilization was capable of everything. Technology was controlling every grievance. Minus the Holy War, us humans had it pretty good. Then the Holy War left these other planes of existence of good and bad and they ensued on our planet. Ground zero. Cities were toppled. People were dying by millions, then, nothing.
People hid in shelters for years waiting for the end. It had come and there were no signs of any Godly or ungodly creatures anywhere. People thought they just left but accidents happened. The world we were left in was dangerous and people should have died trying to reclaim our planet. No one died. You could fall hundreds of stories, you’d be in pain but not dead. Limbs wouldn’t bleed out and age never advanced and no one dared to see what you could do to do die. No one had powers anymore. It was evident that God and the Demagogues were dead.
For a time. People rebuilt the world but the lack of a God stresses out many. Were we cursed? Doomed to roam the planet for the rest of eternity? A young man had an answer. He excelled in the arts, he had charisma and at a young age he attempted to kill himself. No one knows who this young man was but as he dangled from a rope tied to a tree in a major city, people knew he elevated. He left his body behind and up in Arcadia he looked down to the people. He did assume the role of our God but he didn’t want to be like our previous one. He stayed out of the light. He didn’t interfere in the affairs of man but when he was needed, he showed up.
People never worshipped him as a God but as a holy man. He kept the worlds spinning. He was revered as a man who sacrificed his life for the greater good. People wanted to experience death and be able to rest. The Hanged Man offered prolonged life but it would end. No longer cursed the people felt purpose in their life but there were a select few who wished to live forever but that is a story for another time.
